The Czech Republic is a landlocked European country that is bordered by Germany
to the west, Austria to the south Slovakia to the east and Poland to the Northeast.
The capital as well as largest city of
Czechelslovakia is Prague.
Czech is a very historic country where archeologist has found evidence of
prehistoric human settlement that dates as far back as the Neolithic era.
With a Climate that is hot and sunny in the summer and cold and snowy in the
winters the Czech Republic invites skiers during the winter months.
No matter what the season Czech Republic tourism makes up a good part of the
Czech economy.
Although there are over 8 major ski resorts in the Czech Republic 4 stand out
as the top areas for skiing the Czech Republic. The resort with not only the highest points for skiing but also the
most vertical runs is Pec pod Snezkou. This resort offers access to 11 pistes accessed by 10 lifts.
Spindleruv Mlyn, one of the better known resorts, is an excellent resort for
the intermediate skier with access to over 16 miles of downhill skiing and includes 21 individual
pistes.
Smaller but quaint resorts in the Czech Republic are the Zadov and
Ramzova-Petrikov. These resorts offer just 12 pistes together and are rated OK for the intermediate
skier.
The largest skiing area in Czech is comprised of the Harrachov, Rokytnice nad
Jizerou, Paseky nad Jizerou, Rejdice and Příchovice and stretches across the western Krkonose mountains to the
Jizerske Mountains. Czechelslovakia offers some great ski deals.
Lift Information
Pec pod Snezkou offers 10 lifts with the ability to carry up to 9,750 skiers
per hour. 16 ski lifts are available in Spindleruv Mlyn including two chair lifts and plenty of ski tows. Although
Czech Republic skiing is popular, there are sufficient lift capabilities at the resorts. During the biggest part of
the season there may be a short wait for a lift.
Cross Country Skiing
Spindleruv Mlyn offers a whopping 62 miles of cross country skiing. Although
Czech has many groomed cross country trails some of the best cross country skiing is found all throughout the Czech
Republic in untouched landscapes; particularly in the Bohemian forest.
Types of Accommodations
For your skiing convenience in there are many accommodations for the Czech
skier including chalets, hotels and apartments. When skiing Spindleruv you may want to check out Hotel Bedriska
which are 10 walking minutes from the resorts, of course a ski bus will deliver you quicker.

Best Ways to Get There
Lying in the heart of Central Europe, there are good transport connections. The
roads are well maintained and there is train and bus service to accommodate the traveler. In addition to the
international airport located in Prague there are smaller airports located throughout Czech.

locations are hot spots for the après skier.

clubs located throughout the country. You can’t be far from a great bar in a country voted the country to consume
the most alcohol in the world!
